Mints with regular sugar feed the bacteria in your mouth, leading them to multiply and make your breath smell even worse. Mints with xylitol, an FDA approved sweetener, actively kills the bacteria that cause bad breath and tooth decay. To be most effective, we recommend taking xylitol mints 3-5 times per day. If you have a high rate of tooth decay but also have a TMJ disorder or jaw muscle pain with excessive chewing, xylitol mints are a good alternative to the xylitol gum. We like the Epic mints, but if you find another brand you like better, that is okay too! If you have dry mouth, xylitol mints can be great for stimulation of saliva.
